Night Museum Programme and Summer Programme
of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Night museum hours application, valid at 20 museums and archaeological sites across Türkiye between 1 June – 1 October 2026. Which museums in Ankara will be open at which hours under this scope is announced on the official "Night Museology" page (muze.gov.tr/NightMuseum). In the summer season (june–september) free or reduced entry is generally provided into the evening hours; yet a separate decision can be taken for each museum. Before planning, confirm the night-session hours of the museum concerned.
Practical tips
- Museum Pass: It is valid at most official museums; validity may vary at independent galleries and private museums. Whether your card is valid query tool check with; if you will get a new pass how to get it guide may be useful.
- Free Days: At official museums on certain days (e.g. 18 May International Museum Day, 27 September World Tourism Day) entry may be free; follow the calendar.
- Night museum hours: valid until 1 October 2026; plan early for the museum experience in evening light, check ticket/reservation conditions against the chance of queues.
- Transport: Museums around Ulus and Kızılay (Ankara Painting and Sculpture, Anatolian Civilizations, Economic Independence) are easily reached by metro and bus; for CerModern and Timora Sanat a private car or taxi may be more practical.
- Photography: In most museums photography without flash and without commercial purpose is allowed; exhibition rooms may have "no photography" signs. The "Photography Law" exhibition at Erimtan also carries an ironic reference; photograph in accordance with the rules.
- Children and Family: CerModern and Ankara Art Gallery organize children’s workshops; check the program calendar in advance and register.
- Combo Routes: In the Ulus area Ankara Painting and Sculpture, Anatolian Civilizations, Economic Independence and the Roman Bath archaeological site are within walking distance; in morning hours 3–4 venues can be visited comfortably. Because CerModern and Timora Sanat lie south of the city centre (Çankaya/Söğütözü), a separate time block (afternoon) should be planned.
